Soap and Glory's kick ass conceal review

For a while now I have been using the collection 2000 lasting perfection concealer, but have never really understood the hype. Yes it's been ok, but I've felt it never really matched my skin tone and was very drying on my skin. So for a while now I've been on the look out for something new...

I absolutely love watching youtuber's monthly favourite videos, and reading up on products that they have mentioned to get some ideas and inspiration on new things to try. A product that kept cropping up was the Soap and Glory kick ass concealer. Apart from everyone loving the collection 2000 concealer, this seemed to be the second favourite, but extremely over shadowed.

At £10 a pot, I don't really consider it to be amongst the cheaper drugstore concealers, and so put off buying it until my collection 2000 lasting perfection ran out. I now however regret waiting.

I unfortunately suffer with quite dry and sensitive skin, even more so now the weather has turned cold. I find that most concealers are very drying, and this just clings to my already dry patches of skin. To my delight, the kick ass concealer doesn't have the same drying affect.

It has a lovely creamy texture, and smooths onto the skin with a flawless finish and drys to be almost like a powder. I apply it with my fingers, as I do with all of my skin products and feel it melts nicely into my skin.

I am very pleased to say that it gives me amazing coverage from redness and from dark circles under my eyes. I have found with previous concealers, they are either good at covering one or the other.

It comes in 2 shades, light or medium. As I am very pale skinned I opted for the light shade. In the concealer pot you get an under eye concealer which boasts to have a 'puffease' technology, a long lasting spot concealer and a translucent powder to set. I really like the packaging as its lovely and compact and comes with a handy mirror.

Overall I would definitely recommend you give this concealer a chance and I would definitely invest another £10 on the product in the future! I am glad I had a little splurge and won't be going back for the collection 2000 concealer again. Money well spent.

Work/smart outfit of the day

Hey everyone!

Today I have a post about an outfit I wore to work, but I think its also not something that looks too smart that it can't been worn on a casual day.

Recently, I have found myself want to dress more girly, and I have really been loving my circle skirts. I managed to pick up two from River Island in the sale a few weeks back. One is a gorgeous coral and the other is black, with a cute heart print design.

The one that feature in my outfit was the black skirt with a girly heart print design. I picked it up for £10 down from £18 in a recent sale and have work it a ton already! Even though it has quite a bold design, I find it is still easy to team with loads of different looks. It is a nice lightweight material, and I have really enjoyed being able to wear it in the hotter weather we have been having. It is a very flattering fit, and skims over all the right places.

For a top I wore my sheer black and white blouse from Primark. It is black with a white collar and white buttons. Monochrome never seems to go out of fashion, and this blouse certainly makes a nice subtle statement. It has no sleeves which is also perfect for the warmer weather. As I wore this outfit to work, I put a black crop top underneath the sheer blouse, however, it could be worn without in a more casual environment. The white colour and buttons match in with the heart skirt, but is not too overwhelming.

I wore my studded slipper shoes from Primark, which are a fashionable smart shoes and add a bit of edge to the outfit. They are extremely comfortable, and perfect for all day wear.

The sunglasses I wore are from Primark, and have a leopard print design on the front of the frame.

My bag is also from Primark. It is a nice sized bag, and is perfect for carrying eveything I need on a day to day basis. It has a pretty studded design on the front, and it is cery good quality. It was a bargain at £9, and is definitely th best bag I have ever bought and such a reasonable price. Considering it is used every day, it shows no signs of any wear.

Please take a look at my Youtube channel for more outfits and to see exactly how I wore this one.

Carboot bargains!!

Hey everyone! I hope you've all had a lovely week and are looking forward to the weekend ahead.

I, like most I'm sure, love shopping! However, I don't have an unlimited supply of money and prices just seem to keep going up. I love my fashion and have for a just over a year been buying most of my clothes from carboot sales. I started of by going to charity shops, but unfortunately, their prices are far too much for what they are selling. I refuse to pay £3 for a top that has started to go bobbly and has a stain on it! Car booting is the way forward...

I went to my local car boot on Saturday with my mum and my niece. I only took £16 with me to spend and I came back with a lot for than 16 items. I mainly went to look for holiday clothes, as buying new stuff often is a waste as the items end up covered and stained with sun cream.

I got
1. Asos floral dress 50p
2. Topshop cream cardigan 50p
3. American Apparel bandeau FREE
4. H&M light weight jumper FREE
5. Silence black dress £1
6. Black stockings 50p

15. Primark floral bag 50p
16. Topshop jeggings 50p
17. Bikini top 50p
18. Bikini top 50p
19. Topshop oversized crop top 50p
20. Primark oversized jumper 50p
21. Cream jacket 50p

Casual outfit

Hey everyone!

I hope you're all have a good week. I've got another fashion related post for you today. This is why I wore when the weather was cloudy and overcast t the weekend. It's simple, yet still doesn't just blend into the background.

My top is a bargain purchase from a charity shop for £1, originally from Primark. It has a gorgeous burnt out lace effect and is navy in colour. It can be worn without a top underneath as it isn't too sheer, however if you're slightly less confident, or wanted to wear it to work, a  cami/vest top would look nice worn under it too. It is oversized and hangs very nicely. I think navy compliments my skin tone well and I love wearing this top casual or dressed up.

My jeans are from George at Asda. I am unsure of the exact price, but I believe they were around £8 and were a gift from my mum a couple of years ago. They are extremely skinny fit and are more like jeggings than actual jeans. As they are quite tight, I like to wear a nice loose top with them.

My shoes are Nike Air Max 1 leopard print. These are now extremely hard to come by and are even more expensive! I managed to get my pair from eBay. I love them and practically live in them. I like to wear them with any of my clothes but feel they always look best when put with some tight bottoms. They cost me a whopping £150!! But I know that most brand new pairs go for a lot more than that now as they are so rare and were a limited edition.

For jewellery I am wearing my panda face watch from Asos. You will find this watch on my wrist almost every day as I am a little obsessed with it. I had it in my saved list on Asos for quite some time, and I managed to get it for £14 in the sale. I find it easy to style with any outfit and it definitely makes a statement! I also chose some beaded bracelets to stack on my other wrist. I got a massive bundle from a charity shop a couple of years back for £1. I find beaded bracelets add a nice summery feel to my outfit.

Tartan outfit of the day!

Hey beauts!

So I have been dying to wear a jumper for about 2 weeks now, but the weather has just been too good to us for once!! The weekend has been a lot cooler than in the week so I seized the opportunity!

My style is quite quirky, and stands out. I dress in clothes I like, and everyone's entitled to their opinions, but it won't affect my style :).

I rocked out my 4 year old tartan mini skirt that I got from Topshop. I can honestly say, I have never seen anyone else wearing it and I'm in love with this piece! It is quite short, but definitely N essential to my wardrobe. It is difficult to style many other patterned pieces with it, so I make it the main focus of my outfit.

My grey oversized jumper is one of my bargain finds from a carboot sale for 50p! It's from H&M originally and I am so glad I picked it up! Because its oversized, it gives the outfit a more casual look. I also wanted a cover up on my top half, as I already had a lot of skin out on my bottom half! I tucked the front into my skirt just to show of my figure and give a bit more shape to the outfit.

My over the knee ribbed socks are from Topshop. They add edge to any outfit, and I think they make a nice change from tights. This look wouldn't be complete without them! There are so many lengths and colours of socks on the market, so it's a really simple yet effective way to change an entire look! I love them!

My Nike Air Max 1's are a huge passion of mine! They were a limited edition and were very hard to come by! I got this pair from eBay and hold them close to my heart. As they have quirky leopard print, it just adds that little bit extra to finish the outfit off. Again, these also add a more casual look to the outfit. I couldn't be without them.

Jewellery wise, I have stacked some coloured bead bracelets to add a little extra colour to the look and they are perfect for summer. I got a bulk buy of bracelets from a charity shop.I am also wearing my amazing panda watch from Asos which I am in love with!! It just brings a bit of fun to my look, and I wear it almost religiously everyday. Finally, I have my re-worked dragonfly necklace. It's nice and simple, yet still makes a nice subtle statement.

New Blog!!

New Blog

Hello my beauties!

You may know me from my old blog, Charlotte's fashion and beauty inspiration, or you may be new here! Either way,  hello :)

So, I am starting from scratch as I was very slack with updating my previous blog. It is still there for all to read, however, I felt a fresh start may well be the kick start I needed....

So let me start by telling you a bit about myself.

I'm Charlotte, 21 years young and I work in an opticians. I am very content with life at the moment, and am trying to make the most out of every opportunity to fulfil my dreams,

I live with my mum, step-dad and my niece. I have a dog called Flo, who is my world and has got me through very hard times. I also have a tortoise called Theodore and 3 fish. We have another family dog called Jake and 3 chickens.

I work as an optical assistant in a small independent opticians with my best friend Amy. I thoroughly enjoy what I do, and have every intention of furthering my education in optics.

I started making Youtube videos about a year ago now, and the first step was very nerve wracking! I have been watching Youtube videos for about three years and decided to take the plunge and start sharing my ideas with everyone. I am steadily building an audience on my channel, and am growing in confidence every day, My videos mainly focus on beauty and fashion, as these are keen interests of mine.

From Youtubing, I then began to blog, but I feel my heart wasn't truly in it. So, I plan to start a fresh, and set aside time to plan and create posts, and make it as much of a passion of mine as Youtube is.

Please feel free to follow me on my journey, and if you have any tips, they are greatly appreciated!
