DIY- how I ombre my hair

I've had my hair dyed ombre for over a year now. Over the past couple of months I have been deciding whether to let it grow out or to dye it again. So I guess you can see from the title which way I decided to go...
I purchased the l'oreal Paris Wild Ombré Préférence hair dye in No.1 for light brown to dark brown hair. In the past I have gone for the next shade up, but this little beauty was on offer. And it makes sence as my hair is dark brown!
In the box you get all the essentials you need to dye your hair:
1. Gloves
2. Expert application brush
3. Lightening powder
4. Lightening creme
5. Developer creme
6. Conditioning shampoo
7. INSTRUCTIONS!
I would also recommend getting an old tshirt and towel that you don't mind getting dye/bleach on!
I see ombre as primarily a summer hairstyle. But I now have it all year round. It gives so much more texture and dimension to my hair. It looks 'done' without really doing anything at all.
How to ombre: follow the instructions provided. Part the hair into 2 sections. Spread the dye into the brush and brush through the hair. I tend to start at the middle of my ear as a rough guide and then work my way down. I'll then take whatever is left over on the brush and spread it lightly through my hair slightly above my ear, so the transition is smooth and natural looking. Then you'll need to wait about half an hour to 45 minutes for it to develop. Keep looking at the colour as you may find you need to remove it sooner. Wash out with warm water and then condition with the provided shampoo.
I'll then towel dry most of the moisture out of my hair before blow drying and styling.
Ombre is an easy way to change up your hair, without having to spend a fortune at the hairdressers! Below are my before and after snaps!
Thanks for reading x
